Building Midna trophy

Postby Teris » 27 Aug 2014, 22:44

Hello I am currently building the Midna trophy from SSBB!
Image
Though it is not a papercraft per se. I glued the parts on polystyrol sheets, and filled them with plaster. Then I can file the whole thing to get a smooth look. I guess I wanted to try to make my papercraft models a) more durable, b) smoother. Ideally one shouldn't be able to see a huge difference to a bought figurine/statue. Additionally I built some extra details also and later I will paint the whole model. Currently I am almost ready to paint. The build model is 12 inches tall, including the helmet.
So this is my pepakura layout. I do not need flaps, since my the edges can be glued to one another (my sheets are about 0.5mm thick).

Some WIP..., the "papercraft" parts under the plaster can be seen.

All parts put together just to see how it looks:

And this is the current state of the body:

I could release the pdo, but it may be of limited use, since I highly segmented the model to suit my technique and the UV data is all messed sind I didn't need textures.
PS: Is the way I posted the pictures fine?
